Vasemmistofoorumi (Left-wing Forum) organised an English-speaking seminar in Helsinki on May 9, 2007. Amongst the speakers were left-wing representatives from Germany, Holland, Norway and Finland. Appearing at the seminar were: Hans van Heijningen (Socialist Party, Holland), Paavo Arhinmäki (The Left Alliance, Finland), Dag Seierstad (Socialist Left-Wing Party, Norway), Judith Dellheim (Linkspartei.PDS, Germany) and Helmut Scholz (Linkspartei.PDS and European Left-wing Party, Germany). The seminar covered the challenges of the Left and also success stories from different parts of Europe. At the same time the seminar reflected upon the guidelines for European-wide cooperation of the Left.
