Gökhan Depo is a project assistant at E2 Research, working mainly on the coordination, planning, and implementation of two research projects regarding international talent attraction and retention in Finland.

He is a Fulbright scholar and a final year doctoral candidate in the Organizational Leadership and Policy Development Program at the University of Minnesota. His dissertation focuses on undergraduate students’ perception of the alignment between university rankings and institutional quality. He has a BA in Communication Design from Bahcesehir University and an MA in Education and Globalization from the University of Oulu.

Before joining E2 Research, Gökhan has been active in the higher education field. He held a researcher position at the Office for Public Engagement at the University of Minnesota, where he worked directly with the Associate Vice President on evaluations of community engagement programming. He collaborated with top university rankings organizations and university leadership. His interest in higher education started in 2015 when he was a visiting scholar at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he finalized his master’s thesis in which he compared the higher education systems of Finland and the US. He believes in life-long learning and the transformational power of education.


As social scientists, not only do we get to witness the fruits of our labor in society, but we are also given the opportunity to sow the seeds for the future. We strive to create a better world for ourselves and for future generations. Contributing to the betterment of society for each constituent is what I aim to achieve in my work.
