Project objectives

BASE is a pilot project aimed to develop the foreign academics’ societal engagement and impact in Finland. Throughout the project, foreign academics and experts will be consulted, surveyed, and interviewed regarding their work and lives in Finland. The collected data will be utilized in strengthening the networks of foreign professionals and making their expertise visible.

The project will improve our understanding of what kind of support, instructions, and training are needed by foreign academics in their work and daily lives. Based on the surveys, meetings, and focus group interviews, we will develop a pilot webinar series to improve foreign academics’ societal engagement and impact in Finland, which will serve the coming good of the society by supporting all the stakeholders involved.
